Welcome and Happy New Year - yup, this is my last official day to say it.
Pheeew wee! January is nearly over. How do you feel about it? Pumped up with new ideas? Reflecting on the past and what you want to improve? Or taking it as it comes?
Whatever you're feeling, I hope the next few minutes of taking time out of your day to read this might help you along, help you churn up some new ideas or - you know what - just let you be. Nothing wrong with that at all. Especially when every person and their goldfish are shouting about what they're up to. You do you!
Yesterday I was honoured to be invited to the House of Lords by Small Business Britain (more about them later) for a networking reception. Afterwards, I grabbed lunch at The IVY with a couple of business friends. I mentioned I still hadn't nailed down this month's newsletter font. Then it hit me – the restaurant menu was 1920s-inspired and suddenly I was transported back to evenings watching Hercule Poirot on TV. Perfect. Let's have a look at the font I found…
Taking a screen grab and loading the image into WhatTheFont has saved me many minutes of guessing. It pulled up several options, including this beauty: Artisual Deco.
Designed by Måns Grebäck, it's very similar to what The Ivy uses and screams 1920s. I reckon it's best used for headlines, logos, and posters - anywhere you want that Art Deco glamour. And here's the menu from The Ivy that sparked it all.

C'est magnifique! Let's get on with the rest of this month's finds…

#FONTLOVEFRIDAY
This year, I will have been in biz for 14 years! One of the things I try and do throughout the year is give back. I’m about to begin my second year mentoring a student at The London College of Communication - part of the University of the Arts. I mention it as they’re looking for more mentors, especially in these areas: Advertising, Design Management, Commercial Photography and Video Production. If you’re interested and able to help you can email them here to find out more.
Merci for reading!

P.S. A new episode of my podcast Creatives Like Us - is out. I’m speaking with jewellery designer Sara Christie. She designed the earrings that Raye was wearing in the global hit song Where is My Husband. Cool eh?
If you made it to the end - you are awesome! Have a good one! I'm off to pay my tax bill...
